‘X-Men ’97’ Writer Beau DeMayo Interested in Making “Old Man Blade” Movie Featuring Wesley Snipes
Following Wesley Snipes’ return as Blade in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, pretty much everyone seems to be on board with him returning as Blade one more time. From another cameo in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, to Ryan Reynold’s idea of a Logan-style send-off, there are plenty of options for Wesley Snipes to play Blade one more time.
‘X-Men ’97’ writer Beau DeMayo recently also expressed interest in making another Blade movie featuring Wesley Snipes.
Namely, a former ‘X-Men ’97’ writer had a pretty interesting idea in mind, calling it an “Old Man Blade” movie. Here is his pitch for the movie:
Vampire dystopia where they learned to daywalk and took over. Humans are cattle. Brother Voodoo, part of the human resistance, learns Blade was desiccated/entombed and resurrects him so they can hunt Varney and the Darkhold cult to wipe out all vampires. Treat it like Kurosawa.
This is an interesting concept from DeMayo, as the movie could be “separated” from the MCU (another reality, maybe, or a prequel to Wesley Snipes’ cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine).
In general, it seems that fans are liking the idea:
