Will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Be Suitable for Disney+? Vincent D’Onofrio Teases Kingpin Will Be Even More Brutal Than Before
When Netflix’s Marvel series series ‘Daredevil, ‘Jessica Jones,’ Luke Cage,’ Iron Fist, ‘The Punisher,’ and ‘The Defenders’ were canceled, fans couldn’t stop calling for Disney to take over and resume. After all, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil was one of the fan favorites.
Soon, Disney answered the call, and ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was announced. More and more original cast members were confirmed to reprise their roles: Frank Castle, Foggy, Karen, Ben Pointdexter, and, of course, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin.
The cast was all set. One question that remained is whether Disney+ will be able to pick up the original show’s darker, more mature tone. After all, it’s Disney. But it seems that Disney will be following Netflix’s original tone—at least if we trust what Vincent D’Onofrio says!
Namely, in the most recent interview with Rotten Tomatoes, the Kingpin actor teased more action and even more violence and brutality than his character did in the first three ‘Daredevil’ Netflix seasons!
There are some things in this show, that we go much further with than we did on the original show. There’s one thing in particular, that my character does – that I can’t believe made it into the cut.
If we are to believe what Vincent D’Onofrio said about Wilson Fisk, then we are in for a treat – Disney will follow the route Netflix set for the show – the one the fans liked so much.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 1 will premiere in March 2025 and consist of nine episodes. Season 2 will follow with nine more episodes.
