‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Set Footage Gives Us a First Look at The Thing & It Seems It Will Be Costume Over CGI
‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ started filming in late July 2024 at Pinewood Studios in London. Expect that the movie will be set in the 1960s, in an alternate universe to the MCU and will also feature Galactus and Silver Surfer; not much is known about it.
A few weeks ago, we got unofficial photos from the set, possibly showing Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm holding a baby – and everyone’s best guess is that’s Franklin Richards. Today, we finally got one more, unofficial though, updates about the movie.
Namely, we got a first look at Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. The footage below shows the crew putting on a mask on the actor (we don’t know if that is Ebon Moss-Bachrach or a double):
From what we see, the costume looks pretty good and comic-accurate. On top of it, the crew will probably use some sort of VFX to enhance it even further. But having a costume of this kind is definitely a good sign compared to just going full CGI.
