More Than 1,500 Fans Voted for the Worst MCU Movie: Phases 4 & 5 Movies Take the Most Spots on the List
MCU is the greatest movie franchise in history—there’s no denying that. But even Marvel Studios had some misses. Ranker recently conducted a poll asking fans to vote for their worst movie. More than 1,500 fans voted!
Note: The movies are ranked from 10 to 1, with the number 1 movie being voted the worst MCU movie ever.
10. ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’
The least bad MCU movie on the list is the sequel to 2018’s hit ‘Black Panther.’ Although Namor was finally set to enter the MCU, it just didn’t deliver. But, it was a really hard task to overcome – the absence of a fan-favorite legend, Chadwick Boseman.
9. ‘Black Widow’
‘Black Widow’ was a decent MCU origin story movie, on par with other earlier phases movies. But, after ‘Avengers: Endgame’, audiences wanted something more. In my opinion, the movie is a great farewell to Scarlett Johannson’s 10 years in the MCU!
8. ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘
The third Ant-Man movie was one of the biggest flops for the MCU at the box office. In the movie, Kang should have entered the MCU on a big stage, but this movie’s Kang variant was killed. If, instead, Marvel Studios decided to make a huge upset and made that Kang killed Scott instead, that would be a big “woah” for the audiences and probably a bit better reception.
7. ‘The Marvels‘
‘The Marvels.’ From the beginning of the movie till the end, there was just something off. Plot, runtime, villain, dialogues, characters – it’s like the movie was not finished yet but was rushed to the cinemas. The audience saw that, resulting in the worst-performing MCU movie at the box office.
6. ‘Captain Marvel’
I don’t see where the hate for this movie originates. ‘Captain Marvel’ is, like ‘Black Widow’, a decent MCU origin story movie set to introduce Carol to the MCU and set the character’s arrival in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’
5. ‘Iron Man 3‘
Although RDJ is by far the fan-favorite MCU character, a true OG, and the man who started it all, the third installment in the franchise is the least-loved Tony Stark’s big screen appearance. It’s a shame since ‘Iron Man 3’ is a Christmas movie, after all. 🙂
4. ‘The Incredible Hulk‘
‘The Incredible Hulk’ is the movie that some really like, and some really dislike. Some MCU fans absolutely adore Edward Norton and can’t get over his recasting in the MCU, while others simply call for the movie’s “removal” from the MCU. Be as it is, ‘The Incredible Hulk’ has one of the greatest post-credits ever when Tony Stark enters the bar to meet Thaddeus Ross.
3. ‘Thor: The Dark World‘
Most MCU fans called ‘Thor: The Dark World’ a miss. Plot, villain, … a few things went wrong. Besides Power Stone being introduced to the MCU (and that great post-credits scene setting up the Infinity Stones), there are not many big moments in the movie.
2. ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘
After ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, the best Thor movie in the franchise and one of the best MCU movies in general, fans expected even more from Taika Waititi’s fourth Thor movie. But boy, was it a miss. Taika had the opportunity to use one of the greatest actors of all time as one of the best Thor villains ever, but it was just disastrous. Instead of going for a darker, more impactful, serious movie, Taika made a joke. He managed to do that with ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, but ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ was the biggest opportunity missed in the MCU, and in my opinion, the worst MCU movie by a long shot.
1. ‘Eternals’
‘Eternals’ was meant to be something different. Spanning the plot over thousands of years, Celestials, Deviants, and more cosmic stories… The audience just didn’t love it. At least, Celestials will be mentioned for the first time since ‘Eternals’ in the upcoming ‘Captain America: Brave New World’. 🙂
