Cable, Thanos, Johnny Storm, Cap… Did You Know That Josh Brolin and Chris Evans Have Played a Total of 12 Comic Book Characters Combined?
Following the recent rumors that Josh Brolin might play an older version of Hal Jordan in the DCU, a fan on X pointed out that “Legally, you’re not allowed to play more than four comic book movie characters,” indicating that Josh Brolin has already played four different comic book movie characters.
Namely, Josh Brolin played Jonah Hex in ‘Jonah Hex,’ Agent K in ‘Men in Black III,’ Cable in ‘Deadpool 2,’ and of course, Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’
Quickly, another fan jumped on that train, saying how is then Chris Evans allowed to play even more comic book movie characters:
Chris Evans has played eight different comic book characters. He was Johnny Storm in the first ‘Fantastic Four’ movies and ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ He voiced Casey Jones in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,’ played Lucas Lee in ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,’ and Nick Grant in ‘Push,’ a character later added to the comics.
He also played Jake Jensen in ‘The Losers,’ Curtis Everett in ‘Snowpiercer,’ and, of course, Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Marvel movies. He even appeared as Loki pretending to be Captain America in the MCU.
So, even if Josh Brolin ends up as Hal Jordan, Chris Evans easily “wins” this match-up with 8:5 score!
