More Than 17,000 Fans Voted for the Most Powerful Weapon in the Marvel Universe
All-Black the Necrosword, Infinity Gauntlet, Mjolnir… Marvel Universe is home to many great weapons, but which one is the most powerful one? Ranker recently conducted a poll asking fans to vote for the most powerful weapon in the Marvel Universe. More than 17,000 fans voted!
Note: The weapons are ranked from 10 to 1, with the number 1 weapon being voted the most powerful in the Marvel Universe.
10. Nega-Bands
The Nega-Bands are a powerful weapon made by the Supreme Intelligence of the Kree, an alien race. These special wristbands can use the energy of the Negative Zone, another dimension found by the Fantastic Four. Captain Marvel and Quasar, two cosmic heroes, are well-known for wearing them.
The Nega-Bands give the wearer amazing powers, all coming from the Negative Zone’s energy. This energy can boost physical strength, making the wearer hit as hard as the Incredible Hulk.
9. Muramasa Blade
The Muramasa Blade is a mystical sword from ancient Japan, often linked to Wolverine, who spent a lot of time there. Wolverine has used the sword for some big moments, like finally defeating his enemy, Sabretooth.
What makes the Muramasa Blade stand out is its ability to stop healing powers, not just its strength. It’s as tough as Wolverine’s adamantium claws and has the magic to block any healing. Known as the “immortal ending blade,” it’s designed to kill even those who are usually impossible to kill.
8. Excalibur
Excalibur is one of the most famous swords in fiction, known both in comics and other stories. It belongs to the legendary King Arthur. People often mix it up with the Sword in the Stone, which Arthur pulled to prove he was the true king, but they are actually two different swords.
Excalibur is the ultimate weapon and has been used by British superheroes like Captain Britain and the Black Knight. It’s incredibly powerful and, according to legend, can kill anything, even the immortal. The sword also comes with various magical powers.
7. Gungnir
Gungnir is to Odin what Mjolnir is to Thor. Odin’s spear, like Mjolnir, is made from Uru metal and can return to him when called. Although it’s meant to be wielded only by Odin, others have used it during times when Odin has been dead, including some mortals.
Gungnir is essentially a sharp, spear-like version of Mjolnir, and very little in the Marvel Universe can stop it when thrown. Even in close combat, it’s incredibly deadly, able to cut through the limbs of super-strong beings.
6. Mjolnir
Mjolnir, Thor’s magical hammer, is probably the most famous weapon in Marvel Comics. Made from the mystical Uru metal, it has a range of special abilities, like flying, controlling the weather, and always returning to the hand of its rightful wielder. The hammer’s most well-known feature is that only those deemed worthy can lift it.
Mjolnir is extremely powerful. It generates and controls Cosmic Energy, is made of an indestructible metal, and can be thrown at incredible speeds. Very few things can withstand the impact of Mjolnir.
5. The Mandarin’s Rings
The portrayal of the Mandarin has evolved over time, moving away from his original depiction as a racist stereotype. However, his iconic ten rings have stayed central to the character. These rings, worn on all his fingers, were once thought to be magical but were later revealed to be advanced alien technology.
Each of the Mandarin’s ten rings has a unique power, many of which are highly destructive. The rings can unleash lightning, control wind, manipulate space vacuums, or even affect matter at the subatomic level. No matter what needs destroying, at least one of the rings can likely handle it.
4. Ultimate Nullifier
The Ultimate Nullifier is one of the first insanely powerful items to appear in the Marvel Universe. The Watcher gave it to the Fantastic Four, who used it to scare off Galactus from destroying Earth. Since then, the Nullifier has mostly been used as an ultimate threat, and despite its plain appearance, it usually gets the job done.
The Ultimate Nullifier’s powers are vague, but it can essentially wipe out anything it’s aimed at. It’s hard to control and can even backfire, wiping out its user along with the target. In the hands of someone powerful enough, the Nullifier is said to be capable of destroying entire universes.
3. Odinsword
The Odinsword is a significant part of Asgardian history. Originally, it was an enormous sword said to bring about the end of the universe if ever drawn. Later, it was reduced to a more manageable size, and Odin passed it down to his son, Thor.
The full extent of the Odinsword’s power is largely unknown, as it has been used very rarely. However, both Odin and Thor regard it as more powerful than Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. Thor has used the Odinsword to defeat powerful foes, including Cul, Odin’s brother, showing its incredible might.
2. All-Black the Necrosword
All-Black the Necrosword has a fittingly intense name for such a deadly weapon, wielded by Gorr the God Butcher. Though Gorr is a relatively new villain for Thor, he left a lasting impact with his universe-wide mission to kill gods, using the Necrosword with terrifying skill.
The Necrosword can kill some of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe—gods. It grows stronger with each god it kills. In one storyline set in the distant future, an elderly Thor uses All-Black to defeat Galactus, proving it’s one of the most lethal weapons ever created.
1. Infinity Gauntlet
The Infinity Gauntlet is likely the most famous glove in fiction, especially as the central powerful item in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s not just one weapon but six, as it channels and amplifies the abilities of the six Infinity Stones. Thanos is the most well-known user of the Gauntlet, though others have wielded it too.
The Infinity Gauntlet grants its wearer near-limitless power, making them almost unstoppable. Thanos used it to defeat cosmic beings and, in the “Infinity Gauntlet” storyline, wiped out nearly all of Marvel’s superheroes, showcasing its incredible destructive potential.
