Marvel Studios Confirms ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ Will Be the End of Multiverse Saga: Is Mutant Saga Next?

The MCU is currently in Phase 5. After that, Phase 6 will contain (for now) ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, ‘Blade,’ ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ We also know that Spider-Man 4, Doctor Strange 3, and Shang-Chi 2 will probably take place somewhere in between the next two Avengers movies.

What’s next for the MCU after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ was a mystery until recently, when Marvel Studio’s Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation confirmed that the movie will be the end of the Multiverse Saga.

Namely, in an interview with Screen Rant, Brad Winderbaum said the following:

I think that’s [what] Secret Wars is going to be an amazing culmination to the saga. I think it’s going to make the journey feel like it was a worthwhile.

Although this seems logical, it actually confirms two big things. Firstly, we will probably get more and more glimpses and pieces of mutants, but their standalone X-Men movie will not come for at least four more years (2028 or late 2027 at the earliest).

My best guess is that ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will bring the mutants into the main MCU timeline and maybe make them fight the Avengers, thus laying the ground for the MCU’s future—which brings us to the second big thing—the next saga in the MCU.

Namely, as Brad confirmed, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will end all the multiversal stories, and it’s time for the next chapter in MCU – the Mutant Saga!

Avengers will be the main focus of the MCU for almost two decades, and we have a lot of stories and memorable characters, but it might be the time for something new – and who better to use for the next big chapter than the X-Men?

What do you think about this? What would you like to see in the MCU after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’? Let us know on Facebook and Threads!
