New Fan Theory Suggests Thor Saved Cap’s Life by Giving Him Mjolnir Instead of Stormbreaker
Since 2015’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ we’ve waited for Cap to lift the Mjolnir. The moment finally came four years later in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ When Steve saved Thor’s life from Thanos and the camera switched back to Cap with Mjolnir, audiences in cinemas around the world went crazy.
A few minutes later, after the famous “portals scene,” when everyone returned from the Snap, there was a brief scene with Cap wielding Stormbreaker and Thor wielding Mjolnir. The God of Thunder quickly asked Steve to switch the weapons by saying, “Give me that; you get the little one.” Inessential scene? One fan disagrees, and he makes a good point!
Before I get to an explanation, here’s that scene if you want to remind yourself:
Now, we go back to ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ when Guardians of the Galaxy find Thor floating in space after being attacked by Thanos and his Black Order. Namely, in ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ when talking about Thor’s weapons, the God of Thunder said to Guardians of the Galaxy:
You simply lack the strength to wield them. Your bodies would crumple as your minds collapsed into madness.
Based on this, a fan from FandomWire suggests that exact moment is why Thor “took away” the Stormbreaker from Cap and gave him Mjolnir in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ – to not overwhelm the Cap and “ascend him into the madness.”
